Perspective project H Tower - Atelier CDA
History:
​
Since several years the Atelier Castro Denissof et Associés, worked along with Bouygues immobilier, about the transformation of the ancient Louise Michel hospital in the city of Courcorronnes.
​
The H Tower, it’s a symbol of the canal neighbourhood. This part of the city, has recently been renewed and nowadays, is classified as city patrimony.
The building it’s quite important for its habitants, because most of them were born in this exact place.

Project:
​
For the Atelier, it was important to preserve its initial shape and size, but also to make a deep revitalization, not only by its new materials and spaces, but also with innovative functionalities.
The program of the project and its new spaces, are willing to create common areas with multiple functions, sharing different life-styles and generations. The building would be a city in itself, active and alive 24 hours per day.

The pre-existing hospital will become: One senior social residence: with common spaces in the ground floor, one collective housing with a common garden in the roof, part of the ENSIIS university with: Clusters, working spaces and an auditorium; one rooftop restaurant at the last floor and a cultural gallery with a cafeteria at the ground floor.

The program complexity is possible, thanks to the building initial structure and characteristics.
High ceilings, big windows, glass arches and terrasses are the opportunity to create a big variety of lifestyles and functionalities.
We access the new building across the forecourt, we enter in a triple height lobby and finish the building on the rooftop garden and restaurant, in a place of contemplation and party. All these new spaces allow the habitants of the tower H to re-unite and connect for a future better city.
