Concept of Habiter le ciel
« Transform the ways of living in the heights, and celebrate the space functionalities” habiter le ciel is a concept of collective housing, created and explored by the Atelier Castro Denissof et Associés.
The concept uses the height to make a large number of apartments, so density is a main goal on this concept. The plans and sections are drawn by layering houses, this allows a major diversity in the typologies. This concept also proposes high quality common areas, for a better connection between the habitants of the building.

The project of Habiter le ciel, in Aubervilliers city, has 4 collective gardens, each 2 floors. These gardens are surrounded by duplex apartments, their access is different for each garden.
Each floor has different typologies: from the F1 until the F5 duplex, all of them have a balcony, terrasse or a loggia. They look after the distant views, from the upper floors, we can even observe the Sacre Coeur de Paris.
This plot, has also a student’s residence. The building has 113 bedrooms, with the common areas: cafeteria, library, bicycle parking and a common garden.
The final building of this project is the social residence. Its typologies were a demand of Aubervilliers city hall: 40 housing units, simplex apartments from a studio to F5. . The long façade, was drawn with put-of volumes like suspended “boxes” and loggias. These spaces allow the apartments, to have different sun expositions, and exterior quality areas.
